Currents are medium to strong. And at times we need to hang on to our masks ๐Ÿ˜‰ Grey reefs are patrolling along the edge of the channel. And some blobs appear left of us along the wall of the outer reef. Hmmm what is approching us?

Our excitment grows as we find these are rays, white spots on the back and long tails. Elegantly they fly through the touch currentss, like non is there. As a possy of 9 eagles from 70cm spanwith up to maybe 170, they cruise along the outer reef.

They show interest in us, but seem to be quite shy. Of course we would like to have a closer look, so me and Mark we leave the rest of out group. Swimming against the currents, hoping we get a clearer shot of these 9 Eagle rays. At first they move away from us, but after the big Eagle flew off to the top of the reef, the remaining possy approches us.

We are in awe……. Wow, what beauty and grace. And that sensation you get when rays like these actually show interest in us. Just makes your lips curl and skin crawl hihihihi.

This week we met some new friends from the UK, Spain, Hong Kong and Australia. Together we travelled through the Southern Atolls of the Maldives. Weather was fairly good, the company excellent and the diving just amazing.

I can only hope that all my future dive adventures turn out to be as good as this one.

Sunny regards from the Maldivesโ€ฆ
