The Dive sites of Daedalus and Sataya
What a special treat that is as you dive the blue waters of the 1 kilometer long Daedalus in the search of the schooling salloped hammerhead shark. This species is quite shy but if you find what you seek you are in a real treat! A school of hammers emerging from the deep blue waters, swirling around you. If luck is with you there schools can run up to 25-30 individuals, al though 10 are more common. And if that is not enough, Sataya offers a dolphin snorkel to never forget!
From Sataya to Port Ghalib the reefs are amazing and some of them offer a cave, like Claudio, or the deep dropping of Maksour, there is even one where you swim in the reef and its called Malahi (a.k.a. playground). Close to Port Ghalib is the Wonderfull area of Abu Dahab, known for turtles. And what about the bays in that area where dugongs at times are seen.
The variety of types of diving is quite big in this itinerary, as you will meet deep dropping walls with potentially medium currents, next to doing shallow dives with swim throughs and an occasional night dive.
What to see in Daedalus and Sataya

Sharks

Dolphins

Dugong

Turtles
Depending on the time of year you can expect to see quite a variety of sharks, dolphins, turtles and maybe even a dugong. Ofcourse there is no guarantee as the sea is not a zoo, but we do encounter these animals regularly.
Daedalus reef is a fully overgrown 1 kilometer long reef that offers really stunning dives. She is known to be the home of the scholing (scolloped) hammerhead and we dive with them in the blue water usually around the north of the reef. Besides the hammerhead longimanus, grey reef and silky shark is often seen. And a special treat is the oceanic manta that at times like to be around the reef.
Besides all that shark action the reef is amazing and will offer a chance to see: Napoleon wrasse, tuna, shrimps, scorpion and lion fish, giant moray, school of barracuda, trevalli hunting and much more.
In Fury shoal we have a variety of reefs that allure known for their stunning hard corals. Besides that some reefs have a cavern and there is one that is known as a dolphin house. This house is a place where spinner dolphins are seen and these animals usually are not a big fan of divers, however we do like to organize for a snorkel with them they are in the area.
Coming close to Marsa Alam there are options and chances to meet the dugong, large rays like the feather tail ray and even meet turtles including the big sea turtle.
